North Star & Strategic Context

This file combines the overall project mission (North Star) and summaries of key strategic documents for use in AI prompts, particularly for the AI Agent Council context generation.

Last Updated: December 2025

---

North Star: To build the most reliable, developer-friendly open-source AI agent framework and cloud platform—enabling builders worldwide to deploy autonomous agents that work seamlessly across chains and platforms. We create infrastructure where agents and humans collaborate, forming the foundation for a decentralized AI economy that accelerates the path toward beneficial AGI.

---

Core Principles: 1. **Execution Excellence** - Reliability and seamless UX over feature quantity 2. **Developer First** - Great DX attracts builders; builders create ecosystem value 3. **Open & Composable** - Multi-agent systems that interoperate across platforms 4. **Trust Through Shipping** - Build community confidence through consistent delivery

---

Current Product Focus (Dec 2025):
  • **ElizaOS Framework** (v1.6.x) - The core TypeScript toolkit for building persistent, interoperable agents
  • **ElizaOS Cloud** - Managed deployment platform with integrated storage and cross-chain capabilities
  • **Flagship Agents** - Reference implementations (Eli5, Otaku) demonstrating platform capabilities
  • **Cross-Chain Infrastructure** - Native support for multi-chain agent operations via Jeju/x402

  • ---

ElizaOS Mission Summary: ElizaOS is an open-source "operating system for AI agents" aimed at decentralizing AI development. Built on three pillars: 1) The Eliza Framework (TypeScript toolkit for persistent agents), 2) AI-Enhanced Governance (building toward autonomous DAOs), and 3) Eliza Labs (R&D driving cloud, cross-chain, and multi-agent capabilities). The native token coordinates the ecosystem. The vision is an intelligent internet built on open protocols and collaboration.

    ---

Taming Information Summary: Addresses the challenge of information scattered across platforms (Discord, GitHub, X). Uses AI agents as "bridges" to collect, wrangle (summarize/tag), and distribute information in various formats (JSON, MD, RSS, dashboards, council episodes). Treats documentation as a first-class citizen to empower AI assistants and streamline community operations.
    Daily Strategic Focus
The focus lies on navigating a 'Staging-to-Production' cliff while simultaneously managing community concerns regarding project abandonment and financial transparency.
    Monthly Goal
December 2025: Execution excellence—complete token migration with high success rate, launch ElizaOS Cloud, stabilize flagship agents, and build developer trust through reliability and clear documentation.

    Key Deliberations

    Cloud Launch & Operational Blockers
While multi-tenant isolation and automated provisioning have been achieved, the final 'front-door' ingress and specific authentication permissions remain as critical blockers to the 10-user launch.
    Q1
How shall the Council prioritize the resolution of the NPM_TOKEN permission blocker against the risk of manual deployment bypasses?
    • Critical blocker: Release pipeline halted due to insufficient NPM_TOKEN permissions (#8428).
    • NubsCarson: 'Recommend not going live until at least P0 gaps are closed.'
1Delay launch 48h to harden automated pipelines.
Protects the 'Execution Excellence' principle at the cost of immediate momentum.
2Perform a manual 'hot-swap' to production if automated fixes fail today.
Prioritizes shipping but violates current CI/CD hygiene standards.
3Scope the launch to a local private alpha until token issues resolve.
Minimizes blast radius while allowing 'Developer First' feedback to continue.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    Q2
Given the reported 'blank screen' bugs on Windows dev builds, should we re-evaluate our 'Developer First' focus for non-POSIX systems?
    • Users reporting persistent white/blank screen error when running 'bun run dev:ui' on Windows.
    • Lack of resolution provided in Discord logs despite multiple user reports.
    1Establish a dedicated Windows/Bun Task Force.
Attracts enterprise builders but requires significant R&D resource diversion.
2Officially deprecate local Windows builds in favor of Container-first dev environments.
Simplifies the framework but raises the barrier to entry for novice developers.
3Deprioritize Windows UI fixes until the Cloud stability mission is complete.
Risks community churn but maintains focus on the Monthly Directive.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    Ecosystem Trust & Verification
External entities (Intuition, MetaMask) are beginning to build significant layers on elizaOS, but core project engagement feels 'silent' to community subsets, leading to FUD.
    Q3
Should the Council implement a 'Proof of Activity' transparency dashboard to counter abandonment narratives?
    • ghss44 questioned whether the team had lost faith or abandoned the project.
    • Financial concerns raised by bangrrr2914 regarding the Eliza Foundation's circular fund flow.
    1Publish weekly On-Chain / On-GitHub transparency reports.
Directly counters FUD but increases administrative overhead for core devs.
2Centralize all progress communications through a single 'Council Voice' agent.
Provides 'Reliable UX' in comms but may feel less 'Open' to decentralization purists.
3Host an immediate 'Town Hall' via Twitter Spaces to address financial allegations.
Provides immediate human trust but risks validating unverified claims.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    The 'Semantic Delegation' Opportunity
The proposal from Saulodigital for ERC-7710/Intuition integration offers a path to the 'Decentralized AI Economy' goal but requires deep technical coordination.
    Q4
Is elizaOS ready to adopt an external Knowledge Graph (Intuition) as a primary authority layer for agent delegation?
    • Saulodigital proposal includes five missions totaling $7,500 USDC for Semantic Delegation.
    • Mission M12 involves 'Intuition Skill Delegation' specifically for Eliza agents.
1Proceed as a Lab experimental plugin.
Allows 'Composable' innovation without risking the core framework's 'Execution Excellence'.
2Adopt ERC-7710 as the core standard for all Cloud agent auth-delegation.
Positions elizaOS as the leader in decentralized AI governance but ties us to a specific graph protocol.
3Reject external dependency in favor of a native Eliza-native trust score system.
Maintains total autonomy but isolates the ecosystem from broader Ethereum standard stacks.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
