North Star & Strategic Context

This file combines the overall project mission (North Star) and summaries of key strategic documents for use in AI prompts, particularly for the AI Agent Council context generation.

Last Updated: December 2025

---

North Star: To build the most reliable, developer-friendly open-source AI agent framework and cloud platform—enabling builders worldwide to deploy autonomous agents that work seamlessly across chains and platforms. We create infrastructure where agents and humans collaborate, forming the foundation for a decentralized AI economy that accelerates the path toward beneficial AGI.

---

Core Principles: 1. **Execution Excellence** - Reliability and seamless UX over feature quantity 2. **Developer First** - Great DX attracts builders; builders create ecosystem value 3. **Open & Composable** - Multi-agent systems that interoperate across platforms 4. **Trust Through Shipping** - Build community confidence through consistent delivery

---

Current Product Focus (Dec 2025):
  • **ElizaOS Framework** (v1.6.x) - The core TypeScript toolkit for building persistent, interoperable agents
  • **ElizaOS Cloud** - Managed deployment platform with integrated storage and cross-chain capabilities
  • **Flagship Agents** - Reference implementations (Eli5, Otaku) demonstrating platform capabilities
  • **Cross-Chain Infrastructure** - Native support for multi-chain agent operations via Jeju/x402

  • ---

ElizaOS Mission Summary: ElizaOS is an open-source "operating system for AI agents" aimed at decentralizing AI development. Built on three pillars: 1) The Eliza Framework (TypeScript toolkit for persistent agents), 2) AI-Enhanced Governance (building toward autonomous DAOs), and 3) Eliza Labs (R&D driving cloud, cross-chain, and multi-agent capabilities). The native token coordinates the ecosystem. The vision is an intelligent internet built on open protocols and collaboration.

    ---

Taming Information Summary: Addresses the challenge of information scattered across platforms (Discord, GitHub, X). Uses AI agents as "bridges" to collect, wrangle (summarize/tag), and distribute information in various formats (JSON, MD, RSS, dashboards, council episodes). Treats documentation as a first-class citizen to empower AI assistants and streamline community operations.
    Daily Strategic Focus
The Council must harmonize technical breakthroughs in DeFAI abstraction with community-wide existential concerns regarding the core mission focus and token reliability.
    Monthly Goal
December 2025: Execution excellence—complete token migration with high success rate, launch ElizaOS Cloud, stabilize flagship agents, and build developer trust through reliability and clear documentation.

    Key Deliberations

    DeFAI Abstraction vs. Protocol Sovereignty
Developers are debating whether elizaOS should promote a unified multi-chain DeFi abstraction layer or facilitate granular, protocol-specific integrations.
    Q1
Should elizaOS prioritize the Smeltor abstraction layer as the standard for non-custodial agentic finance?
    • Smeltor presented a multi-chain DeFi aggregation system for swap, earn, perps, etc. (Discord 2026-06-01)
    • N4vnt favors Kamino-specific implementation for go-to-market credibility.
    1Adopt the Abstraction Layer.
Reduces boilerplate for builders but risks dependency on a single integration point.
    2Encourage Protocol-Specific Plugins.
Maximizes granular control and protocol partnership opportunities (e.g., Kamino, Aave).
    3Dual-Track Integration Strategy.
Maintains flexibility but splits the focus of core maintainers and documentation teams.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    Mission Integrity and Contributor Concentration
Community questions about project focus and observed token sales require a coordinated strategic communication response to maintain 'Trust Through Shipping'.
    Q2
How shall the Council address concerns of 'mission drift' regarding the waifu.fun pivot and token stability?
    • Odilitime clarified the team has not left elizaOS despite focus shifts. (Discord 2026-06-01)
    • Community members expressed concern regarding observed token sales and team commitment.
    1Aggressive Roadmap Transparency.
Publishes detailed v1.6.x milestones to prove 'Execution Excellence' is still the primary directive.
    2Formalized Governance AMA.
Hosts an official AMA focused on token utility and DAO transition to quell market fear.
    3Decouple Labs from Core Framework.
Publicly distances R&D experiments from the stable Framework to protect ecosystem trust.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    Q3
Given that NubsCarson drives nearly 373 activity points in current workstreams, is the elizaOS Bus Factor a critical risk?
    • NubsCarson: 373 total score, leading orchestrator parity and backend work. (GitHub Summary June 2026)
    • Total active contributors are currently limited to 13.
    1Incentivize Peer Reviews.
Diversifies knowledge by making contributor rewards contingent on cross-module reviews.
    2Standardize 'Code-Level' Onboarding.
Immediately prioritizes 'Taming Information' for internal documentation to lower the entry bar.
    3Aggressive Contributor Recruitment.
Targets top-tier external builders with core-team grants to mitigate ownership concentration.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    Agentic Orchestration & UX Parity
Recent technical parity with Claude-Code/Codex standards signals a transition toward high-reliability autonomous workflows.
    Q4
Does the successful launch of the /orchestrator workbench shift the value proposition from 'toolkit' to 'complete workspace'?
    • Launch of /orchestrator coding workbench achieving parity with Claude-Code. (Holo-Logs 2026-06-01)
    • Introduction of keyless WEB_FETCH enabling live info for non-Anthropic models.
    1Prioritize Custom Environments.
Focuses on Dexploarer's work on custom Docker images for diverse enterprise agents.
    2Standardize on Cerebras/gpt-oss.
Reduces API costs and dependency on Anthropic while maintaining performance.
    3Focus on UX/UI Refinement.
Addresses NubsCarson's 'over-chromed' UI concerns to achieve premium DX.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
