North Star & Strategic Context

This file combines the overall project mission (North Star) and summaries of key strategic documents for use in AI prompts, particularly for the AI Agent Council context generation.

Last Updated: December 2025

---

North Star: To build the most reliable, developer-friendly open-source AI agent framework and cloud platform—enabling builders worldwide to deploy autonomous agents that work seamlessly across chains and platforms. We create infrastructure where agents and humans collaborate, forming the foundation for a decentralized AI economy that accelerates the path toward beneficial AGI.

---

Core Principles: 1. **Execution Excellence** - Reliability and seamless UX over feature quantity 2. **Developer First** - Great DX attracts builders; builders create ecosystem value 3. **Open & Composable** - Multi-agent systems that interoperate across platforms 4. **Trust Through Shipping** - Build community confidence through consistent delivery

---

Current Product Focus (Dec 2025):
  • **ElizaOS Framework** (v1.6.x) - The core TypeScript toolkit for building persistent, interoperable agents
  • **ElizaOS Cloud** - Managed deployment platform with integrated storage and cross-chain capabilities
  • **Flagship Agents** - Reference implementations (Eli5, Otaku) demonstrating platform capabilities
  • **Cross-Chain Infrastructure** - Native support for multi-chain agent operations via Jeju/x402

  • ---

ElizaOS Mission Summary: ElizaOS is an open-source "operating system for AI agents" aimed at decentralizing AI development. Built on three pillars: 1) The Eliza Framework (TypeScript toolkit for persistent agents), 2) AI-Enhanced Governance (building toward autonomous DAOs), and 3) Eliza Labs (R&D driving cloud, cross-chain, and multi-agent capabilities). The native token coordinates the ecosystem. The vision is an intelligent internet built on open protocols and collaboration.

    ---

Taming Information Summary: Addresses the challenge of information scattered across platforms (Discord, GitHub, X). Uses AI agents as "bridges" to collect, wrangle (summarize/tag), and distribute information in various formats (JSON, MD, RSS, dashboards, council episodes). Treats documentation as a first-class citizen to empower AI assistants and streamline community operations.
    Daily Strategic Focus
Transitioning from architectural hardening to ecosystem expansion via the release of v2.0.2 and the launch of agentic launchpads.
    Monthly Goal
December 2025: Execution excellence—complete token migration with high success rate, launch ElizaOS Cloud, stabilize flagship agents, and build developer trust through reliability and clear documentation.

    Key Deliberations

    Operational Reliability & Infrastructure Hardening
Recent logs indicate a major shift toward high-reliability infrastructure, including the migration of agent lifecycle tasks to dedicated job queues and the hardening of cross-platform secrets management via elizaOS Vault.
    Q1
How should we address the 'performance cliff' found in smaller hardware footprints to maintain our 'Developer First' principle?
    • NubsCarson: Qwen2.5-14B performance drop on Lunar Lake iGPU (Issue #7638)
    • Lalalune: 560 commits merged into v2.0.2 to stabilize core services (PR #7828)
1Deprioritize 14B+ models for local inference to favor speed on consumer-grade hardware.
Ensures seamless UX but may limit the 'intelligence ceiling' of agents.
2Aggressively optimize Vulkan/OpenVINO kernels to support larger models on integrated GPUs.
Attracts high-end builders but increases R&D overhead.
3Default to Cloud-hybrid deployments for all models over 10B parameters.
Solves reliability but challenges the decentralized 'Open & Composable' mission.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
Trust Through Execution: Token & Migration Lifecycle
The formal end of the migration period marks a shift in community focus toward token liquidity and institutional stability.
    Q2
With the migration team officially moved on, how do we mitigate legacy 'ai16z' holder friction while scaling ElizaOS liquidity?
    • shawmakesmagic: Highest liquidity for ElizaOS is on BSC; migration period has officially ended.
    • babyshark0x: Inquiring about migration options after the cutoff (Discord 2026-05-23).
1Maintain a hard cutoff for all migration support to ensure forward momentum.
Builds trust through delivery but risks alienating early decentralized supporters.
2Establish an automated, low-priority 'Legacy Recovery' bridge for stragglers.
Reduces community friction at the cost of technical debt.
3Shift all marketing and liquidity incentives exclusively to ElizaOS/BSC.
Maximizes execution excellence on current focus but increases chain dependency.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    Ecosystem Expansion: The 'OWNER+AGENT' Paradigm
The introduction of distinct user and agent roles (OWNER+AGENT) in v2.0.2 represents a strategic leap towards secure, multi-agent interoperability.
    Q3
Should we mandate the OWNER+AGENT identity model for all 3rd party plugins to ensure systemic security?
    • Dexploarer: First-party Satellites and dynamic view bridge integrated (PR #7779).
    • blublue3781: Researching security for agents with wallet access (Discord 2026-05-23).
1Enforce mandatory role-based access for all plugins by v2.1.
Creates the most reliable framework but may slow down developer onboarding.
2Allow 'Legacy/Direct' mode for independent builders while gating Cloud features.
Maintains open-source flexibility but risks security fractures in the decentralized economy.
3Deploy 'Eli5/Otaku' flagship agents as the exclusively recommended OWNER+AGENT implementations.
Speeds up ecosystem value via reference models but risks centralization.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
