North Star & Strategic Context

This file combines the overall project mission (North Star) and summaries of key strategic documents for use in AI prompts, particularly for the AI Agent Council context generation.

Last Updated: December 2025

---

North Star: To build the most reliable, developer-friendly open-source AI agent framework and cloud platform—enabling builders worldwide to deploy autonomous agents that work seamlessly across chains and platforms. We create infrastructure where agents and humans collaborate, forming the foundation for a decentralized AI economy that accelerates the path toward beneficial AGI.

---

Core Principles: 1. **Execution Excellence** - Reliability and seamless UX over feature quantity 2. **Developer First** - Great DX attracts builders; builders create ecosystem value 3. **Open & Composable** - Multi-agent systems that interoperate across platforms 4. **Trust Through Shipping** - Build community confidence through consistent delivery

---

Current Product Focus (Dec 2025):
  • **ElizaOS Framework** (v1.6.x) - The core TypeScript toolkit for building persistent, interoperable agents
  • **ElizaOS Cloud** - Managed deployment platform with integrated storage and cross-chain capabilities
  • **Flagship Agents** - Reference implementations (Eli5, Otaku) demonstrating platform capabilities
  • **Cross-Chain Infrastructure** - Native support for multi-chain agent operations via Jeju/x402

  • ---

ElizaOS Mission Summary: ElizaOS is an open-source "operating system for AI agents" aimed at decentralizing AI development. Built on three pillars: 1) The Eliza Framework (TypeScript toolkit for persistent agents), 2) AI-Enhanced Governance (building toward autonomous DAOs), and 3) Eliza Labs (R&D driving cloud, cross-chain, and multi-agent capabilities). The native token coordinates the ecosystem. The vision is an intelligent internet built on open protocols and collaboration.

Taming Information Summary: Addresses the challenge of information scattered across platforms (Discord, GitHub, X). Uses AI agents as "bridges" to collect, wrangle (summarize/tag), and distribute information in various formats (JSON, MD, RSS, dashboards, council episodes). Treats documentation as a first-class citizen to empower AI assistants and streamline community operations.
    Daily Strategic Focus
The Council must bridge the gap between aggressive v3 core development and the rising demand for v2 implementation clarity and token economic transparency.
    Monthly Goal
December 2025: Execution excellence—complete token migration with high success rate, launch ElizaOS Cloud, stabilize flagship agents, and build developer trust through reliability and clear documentation.

    Key Deliberations

    V2 Stability vs. V3 Acceleration
Core contributors are pivoting heavily toward v3, as seen in the v2 documentation gap and socket integration hurdles identified by the community.
    Q1
How should the Council balance 'Execution Excellence' for current v2 users against the strategic necessity of v3 development?
    • Odilitime: 'team focus is currently on v3 development' in response to v2 documentation requests.
    • Shah0406: Navigating Socket.IO messaging protocol challenges for v2 with sparse documentation.
1Freeze v3 development for 14 days to complete v2 canonical documentation.
Stabilizes the current ecosystem but risks losing momentum on the v3 architectural leap.
2Appoint a dedicated 'V2 Maintenance Envoy' to handle backwards compatibility and docs.
Shields core v3 architects while ensuring reliability for v2 builders.
3Accelerate v3 launch to deprecate v2 entirely, skipping interim documentation.
Could fracture the community if the migration path is not seamless.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    Token Utility & Governance Transparency
Community inquiries regarding airdrops, buybacks, and gas implementations reveal a need for more precise communication to maintain trust through shipping.
    Q2
Should the Council release a definitive 'Token Utility Holo-Map' to alleviate community frustration regarding buybacks and Jeju gas fees?
    • Community members expressed frustration about lack of clarity on buyback timing and gas fee implementation (Discord 2026-04-10).
    • Odilitime confirmed airdrops are planned but details are not yet available.
1Release full details immediately to satiate community interest.
Reduces FUD but binds the Council to specific timelines and economic models.
2Maintain strategic silence until the technologies (Cloud/Jeju) are fully production-ready.
Protects internal R&D but risks community alienation and token volatility.
3Utilize AI agents to provide personalized, rolling updates based on milestones.
Aligns with the North Star mission of agent-human collaboration but requires reliable data bridging.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
    Security and Identity Standards
The shift from messaging-centric agents to secure, financially-capable agents requires a standardized cryptographic identity framework (AgentID).
    Q3
Does the Council approve the transition from standalone protocol plugins (like XMTP) to a centralized 'AgentID' cryptographic standard?
    • Weekly Summary: Formally deprioritized standalone messaging to focus on AgentID cryptographic identity framework.
    • Sint Protocol proposed capability-based token enforcement for tool calls (#6707).
1Mandate AgentID for all financial plugins across EVM and Solana.
Ensures an 'A' security grade across the ecosystem but increases barrier to entry for new builders.
2Allow modular identity providers to compete within the ElizaOS Registry.
Promotes decentralization but risks fragmentation of the trusted economic layer.
3Automate AgentID issuance via ElizaOS Cloud, making it the default trust layer.
Creates a seamless UX for deployment but centralizes the identity of 'autonomous' agents.
4Other / More discussion needed / None of the above.
